June 27, 1933 – January 25, 2021
Mildred S. Kinsey, 87, of Indian Trail, NC, passed away peacefully at home on the 25th of January, 2021. She was born on the 27th of June 1933 in Lancaster County, SC, to the late Bill and Lula Sims.
Mildred was a Superior Court Reporter for the State of North Carolina for 42 years before her retirement. She met many lifelong friends during this time. She was always willing to give a helping hand when needed. She was a terrific cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She enjoyed Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, and The Price is Right, but her world was centered around her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Kinsey, Jr., four sisters, and two brothers.
She was a member of East Baptist Church, now known as East City Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Carelock with whom she made her home, her son Randy Kinsey and wife, Debi; step-daughters: Shirley Martin (Kieth) and Jackie Hart (Glenn); sister, Nita Yates, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, the 28th of January, 2021, at 1:00 PM at East City Church 6850 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC; a funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM with Reverand Jon DeBell officiating. A graveside service will follow the funeral service at Sharon Memorial Park. Bearing the casket of Mildred are Adam Kinsey, Matthew Kinsey, Candis Kinsey, Dawson Stegall, Craig Morgan, Jon Hollar.
The family would like to thank Sensenbrenner Primary Care for taking care of her over the last 34 years and to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Greater Charlotte Region for their exceptional care during the last month of her life.
