George Dimitrios Patronis

October 24, 1930 – January 8, 2021

George Dimitrios Patronis, 90, of Charlotte, NC passed away on Friday, the 8th of January, 2021.

George was born in Marathias, Evrytania, Greece on the 24th of October, 1930 to Dimitrios and Evanthia Patronis. George immigrated to the United States in 1968 with his wife and children. He was a great patriot of Greece and continued his family traditions long after his immigration. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral and raised his children in the church as well.

George was a skilled carpenter and painter by trade. He often shared his expertise in helping his friends and family. He served his community; notably, the Elatos Park in Wesley Chapel.

George is survived by his wife of 56 years Ourania Patronis, son Jim Patronis of Charlotte, daughter Effie Halas and husband Carl of Weddington, NC, grandchildren, Michael Halas of Matthews, Nina Breed and husband Austin of Hickory, NC and many nieces and nephews in the US and in Greece.

The Trisagion service and visitation will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, the 13th of January, 2021 in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.  The Funeral service will be private due to the concerns of the Covid pandemic.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, “Pew Restoration Fund”,  East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC  28203.
