Itemized Selections: The goods and services shown below are those we can provide our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must purchase any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.
Basic Services of Funeral Director & Staff – $2,545.00
Our fee for the services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to, staff to respond to initial request for service; arrangement conference with family or responsible party; arrangement of funeral; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notices excluding newspaper charges; staff assistance prior to and following the funeral, including coordination with those providing other portions of the funeral. E.g. cemetery, crematory and others. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses related to our facilities such as maintenance and utility expenses, insurance, secretarial and administrative costs, and equipment and inventory expenses. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains).
Transfer of Decedent – $295.00
Removal from place of death and escort to our facility within a 25 mi. radius. Additional mileage $2.00 per mile beyond 25 mi. radius.
Embalming – $695.00
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want to embalm, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.
Other Preparation of the Body
Dressing, Casketing, Cosmetizing – $185.00
This fee includes dressing the deceased in clothing provided, application of necessary cosmetics and placing deceased in casket or container. This fee does not include a professional beautician or barber.
Sanitary Care – $375.00
This fee includes bathing, disinfecting and posing of features when no embalming is provided.
Use of Facilities and Services of Funeral Director and Staff for Visitation (per day) This fee is for use of our facility, and services of funeral director and staff in coordination and supervising the event.
Staff Services and Use of Automotive Equipment for Visitation at a facility other than our chapel This fee is for our services and hearse for a visitation off of our premise Use of Facilities/Drawing Room This fee is for use of one of our staterooms and registration when there is no public viewing or visitation scheduled
Use of Facilities and Services of Funeral Director and Staff for Visitation prior to or following the ceremony This fee is for use of our facility, funeral director and staff services in coordinating and supervising the visitation when scheduled on the same day as the ceremony. Use of Facilities and Services of Funeral Director and Staff for Funeral Ceremony in our Chapel. Our services include organizing, coordinating and supervising the funeral ceremony. Includes committal service and placement at a cemetery.
Services of Funeral Director and Staff in organizing, coordinating and supervising the funeral ceremony at a facility other than our chapel. Includes committal service and placement at a cemetery.
Use of Facilities and Staff Services for Memorial Service (without a casket present). Our services include coordinating the memorial service arrangements, supervision of the memorial service, and staff to attend the service. Does not include a committal service or placement at a cemetery or place final of disposition.
Services of Funeral Director and Staff in organizing, coordinating and supervising the Memorial Service (without casket present) at an off-premise location. Does not include committal service or placement at a cemetery or place of final disposition.
Services of Funeral Director and Staff for Graveside Services
Our services include funeral director and staff in organizing, coordinating and supervising the funeral ceremony from the graveside, cryptside, or chapel on cemetery grounds, in lieu of a ceremony in our chapel or other location.

Cremation, Immediate Burial, Anatomical Donation
Forwarding Remains To Another Funeral Home – $1,995.00
This charge includes removal of remains, necessary services of staff, embalming, obtaining necessary authorizations, transfer to the airport. This charge does NOT include visitation, transportation costs, rites or ceremonies prior to forwarding of the remains and a protective air tray or combination transfer unit as required by the airlines.
Receiving Remains From Another Funeral Home – $1,995.00
This charge includes necessary services of funeral director and staff, general care of the remains, and transportation of remains to cemetery or crematory. (This charge does NOT include visitation, merchandise, ceremony, or graveside services.)
Immediate Burials – $2,545 – $8,390
Our charge for an immediate burial, without any attendant rites or ceremonies, includes removal and general care of remains, local transportation to cemetery, necessary services of funeral director and staff, and obtaining necessary authorizations. *This fee does not include embalming, visitation, or ceremonies.

Historic Morehead Plan – $4,895.00
This plan includes the basic services of the Funeral Director and staff, obtaining necessary authorizations, removal of remains from the place of death, embalming, dressing and casketing, one hour of visitation and graveside service, use of the hearse to the cemetery and service vehicle and a 20 gauge metal casket.
Donation to a Medical School – $795.00
This charge includes removal of remains, necessary services of staff, general care of remains, obtaining necessary authorizations, transportation to medical school ( transportation costs outside of 50mile radius or any other preparation will be additional.
Direct Cremation – $1,995.00 – $7,690.00
Our charge for a direct cremation without any services or ceremonies includes removal of remains within 25 mi. radius, general care of remains, necessary services of staff, an alternative cardboard container, crematory fee, and a temporary container for the return of the cremated remains.
North Carolina Law requires a 24 hour waiting period before cremation can take place.
Medical Examiners Fee of $50.00 for a cremation permit when death occurs in a non-licensed facility.
