Barbara Jean Parham Allen

June 4, 1949 – July 8, 2019

 

Charlotte, NC- Barbara Jean Parham was born on June 4, 1949, in Bluefield, West Virginia. She gained her heavenly wings on July 8, 2019. She was born to the late Ernest H. Parham and Ella C. Martin Parham.
Barbara accepted Christ at an early age at John Stewart United Methodist Church and was baptized at St. Matthew United Holiness Church. Barbara Jean attended schools in Bluefield and was the proud graduate of Park Central High School, Class of 1968. Barbara completed her formal education at Bluefield State College for two years. Barbara worked at the Bluefield Regional Medical Center as a CNA until 1996. After moving to Alabama with her husband, she continued her employment at Bessemer Caraway Medical Center and Brookwood Medical Center until her retirement in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Ella Parham, her beloved husband, Henry Allen, Jr. and one son, Terrence Jones; one sister, Lavoice Parham Wallace; and one brother, Randolph V. Parham.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted daughter, Tiffany Jones Crowder; son-in-law, Ronald Crowder; one sister, Joyce Parham Jupiter; three brothers, Ronald (Regina) Parham, James Parham, and Charles (Geraldine) Parham; her three precious grandchildren, Aleshia Jones, Johnathan Gravely, and Anietra Gravely; and her beautiful great-grandchildren, Neveah, Nasir, and Aubrey; her in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Allen, Sr.; and stepchildren, Selena Allen and Kim Allen. She will be missed by her Godmother, Mrs. Frances H. Powers, her oldest cousin, Mr. David L. Martin, Sr., and her dearest friend, Mrs. Shirley Evans. Also left are a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The love of HER life was Mr. Wiggs, her dog.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at John Stewart United Methodist Church with Rev. James Reed and Bishop Anthony Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from noon until the service hour.
